Sign the petition below to call on the Labor Government to immediately halt its plan to expand the use of average speed cameras to target cars in the Central West.

This policy will unfairly penalise Central West drivers who rely on their vehicles daily, with no viable public transport alternatives.

The vast majority of accidents occur at speeds only 0-10 kph over the limit, so expanding these cameras to lightweight vehicles does little to improve road safety.

Instead, it serves as nothing more than a cash grab, punishing regional communities while the government abandons crucial road safety initiatives, cuts funding for road repairs, and fails to address serious issues like outdated cars and reduced highway patrol.

We demand that the Labor Government:

  1. Scrap the proposal to expand average speed cameras to cars.

  2. Invest in road safety initiatives that genuinely protect drivers, such as better roads and support for young drivers to access safer vehicles.

  3. Stop using regional drivers to make up for revenue lost by reducing mobile speed cameras in the city.

Please sign this petition to ensure your voice is heard and this unfair policy is overturned.
