NSW Upper House MP, Sam Farraway today announced that Orange Cavaliers Cricket Club have received a $5000 grant from the NSW State Government. The funding will be used to purchase a new bowling machine that will greatly improve the quality of cricket training.
“With summer only a few months away, this funding for the new bowling machine will mean the Orange Cavaliers will be able to see the benefits to their enhanced training sessions in the lead up to the next summer cricket competition “said Mr Farraway
Orange Cavaliers Juniors coordinator Stuart Middleton said that this new bowling machine will provide great assistance and help to develop the next group of first grade Central West cricketers and lift the standard of training for the Orange Cavaliers.
“The value of a bowling machine in practice situations is that it can allow the batter to face each ball at close to the ideal position and be able to practice through repetition” said Mr Middleton
“The machine will be able to help increase participation and provide more sustainable training for long periods of time. The value of the machine is priceless from a coaching point of view. Kids as young as 4 years old can train on the same machine as a 40 year old” said Mr Middleton
“Over the past 3 months I’ve been working with the Orange Cavaliers Cricket Club to secure funding for a new bowling machine. It’s fantastic to be able to present this funding to the club on behalf of the NSW Government. This new bowling machine will mean the club can continue to grow cricket across the Central West and maybe one day even produce a Baggy Green” said Mr Farraway
