COMMUNITY CHEERS FOR CUMNOCK SHOW

Cumnock locals can expect the very best of local produce, livestock and entertainment at the 2023 Cumnock Show thanks to an $8,000 investment from the NSW Government.

Nationals Upper House MP Sam Farraway said the Cumnock Show is a major event on the local calendar and that this funding would help deliver Cumnock its best show yet.

“Country shows are the heart of so many regional communities, playing a vital role in bringing locals together and allowing visitors to experience the tastes, sights and sounds of the bush.

“I am thrilled this funding will help support the Cumnock Show Society construct new kitchen facilities with greater storage capacity, allowing for bigger and better annual show luncheons, BBQ nights and more space for exhibitors,” Mr Farraway said.

“Our regional communities have been hit hard over the last few years. From drought to fires, floods to COVID, we have faced more than our fair share of challenges.

“Despite these challenges our local show societies continue to deliver family fun events for their communities to enjoy.

“I am proud to be part of a Government who recognises these efforts and is building a safer, stronger regional NSW to secure a brighter future for families living in the bush.”

Cumnock Show Society Catering Officer and committee member Rhonda Watt said the funding would provide both certainty and help the committee to deliver the annual show in 2023.

“This funding will be a huge help to us. It will be put towards the installation of a new washing up station and storage area,” Ms Watt said.

“With more certainty we can now lock in suppliers, hire equipment and purchase goods which is especially great for local businesses.

“This funding will be a huge help to us and we are extremely grateful to the NSW Government for providing us a helping hand.”

The annual Cumnock Show will be held on March 18, 2023 at the Cumnock Showgrounds on Baldry Road.
