CENTRAL WEST IGNORED IN LABOR’S BUDGET

The Nationals Candidate for Calare Sam Farraway said last night’s budget shows the Albanese Government is spending big in the cities, while regional Australians are being forgotten.

“This Budget racks up $1 trillion in national debt, with taxpayers now paying $28 billion a year in interest, yet there’s nothing for our region,” Mr Farraway said.

“No funding for the Great Western Highway, no car park for the Bathurst Integrated Medical Centre, no support for Lithgow’s Main Street footpath upgrade and no real help for small businesses or families doing it tough.

“Meanwhile, Labor is spending $8.7 billion on energy subsidies to cover up a failing renewables-only plan — while power bills keep rising and our landscape is destroyed.

“Labor’s $150 rebate is a band-aid. Families in the Central West have seen power prices jump by more than $1,300 since Labor came to government. It’s not good enough.”

Mr Farraway said the Budget is further proof that Labor and Independents don’t deliver for the Central West.

“If we want real investment in roads, more doctors for our region and a reliable, affordable energy network that doesn’t destroy our landscape we need an MP who is part of a team that can deliver.

“Only a majority Coalition Government will bring funding back to the Central West and get our community back on track.”
