NSW Nationals Upper House MP, Sam Farraway this week presented the Rotary Club of Orange with a NSW Government grant to support their community programs over the next 12 months.
“With the cancellation of many events in the region due to COVID-19, many community organisations were left without their main annual fundraiser or have faced significantly reduced fundraising opportunities.
“Rotary Club of Orange would have usually funded their community programs through the income raised from events such as the Banjo Paterson Poetry Festival, Sustainable Living Week, The Great Volcanic Mountain Challenge and a number of community markets” Mr Farraway said
“After seeing first-hand the good work Rotary Club of Orange do for the local community and the broader Central West, it was great to be able to present them with funding from the NSW Government to continue their programs over the next 12 months.” Rotary Club of Orange received $10,000 to go towards their annual programs to support disadvantaged youth in partnership with the Smith Family ‘Learning for Life’ program. This program provides 17 disadvantaged students across the region financial support to attend school and participate at a level that would otherwise be difficult for these students and families. In addition to this program, Rotary Club of Orange also support Canobolas Rural Technology High School and Bowen Public School with leadership programs and educational resources such as library books and blazers for school leaders.
